What is the Guest of Honor Principle?

East Bay Convoy of Hope® takes pride in its guest of honor principle. Our goal for the outreach is that every attendee be valued, respected, and treated as a guest of honor. Every aspect of an outreach is based on this principle; and, on the day of an outreach, all areas of service demonstrate this principle. We unconditionally love and accept each guest without regard to age, race, physical appearance, or spiritual condition.

What is East Bay Convoy Of Hope® all about?

The East Bay Convoy of Hope® outreach is a one-day special community event designed to meet both the human and spiritual needs of impoverished families. Our outreach gives hope by providing attendees free: groceries, health and dental screenings, haircuts, games, giveaways and children's activities.

During the outreach, approximately 700 local volunteers will serve anywhere from 5,000 – 6,000 guest-attendees. Opportunities for ongoing service are made possible by giving volunteers from businesses, churches, government agencies, and community service organizations a chance to connect with local residents, making a lasting impression on all who participate.

Contra Costa County Supervisors Praise East Bay Convoy Of Hope

"The Convoy of Hope is an inspirational community initiative because it blesses the lives of the attendees, volunteers and organizers. (Last year) many needs were met with community services, haircuts and heath services. There are thousands of homes where people are struggling and I hope that (this year) we can build on this event to reach out and help people."
County Supervisor Susan Bonilla (5/1/2008)

"Last year's Convoy of Hope as presented by Calvary Temple was a day of hope for many of Bay Point residents. It renews one's faith in the ability of our fellow men and women to do good."
County Supervisor Federal Glover (5/5/2008)
